Top-down hunting and resource-farming game
Rope Hunter is a free top-down hunting game that requires players to capture various enemies with a rope. These NPCs can then be dragged into an underground hole for storage.
As opposed to more realistic games, such as Hunting Unlimited, Rope Hunter has been designed in such a way as to be suitable for younger players. Users will encounter a host of cartoonish creatures as well as a number of levels to explore.
Unique gameplay
Users will drag their character around the screen until it approaches an enemy. He or she must then reduce its power by remaining within close proximity. Once its life bar has been depleted, it can then be caught with a lasso.
A shrinking device
There are certain creatures (such as dinosaurs and giant ants) that will first need to be reduced in size by placing them within a shrinking machine. These can then be turned in so that players can acquire in-game loot. This money is used to purchase upgrades.
A hint of resource farming
Rope Hunter offers a fair amount of resource farming in the form of money that is collected when an enemy is trapped. Larger foes are worth more, and over time, these funds will be necessary in order to ascend to higher (and more challenging) levels.
A breath of fresh air
The explorative nature of Rope Hunter should appeal to fans of other top-down apps, such as Forager. However, the ability to trap enemies is unique and should provide a welcome departure from standard 2D combat platforms.
